Start with the hotel, not the price
For senior citizens and families with small children, the distance from hotel to Haram decides how tiring the trip is, because you will walk it several times a day. Ask for the hotel name and the walking time in both Makkah and Madinah. Our Sukoon Umrah offers a 3 minute walk in Makkah and hotels steps from the Haram in Madinah, and Deluxe Umrah has the closest hotels in both cities. Fares change by departure date, so please confirm with our desk.
Choose room sharing that gives rest
Quint and Quad sharing keep costs lower, but a Double or Triple room gives parents quieter rest between prayers. If grandparents travel with children, think about who needs to sleep when, rather than just the per-person fare.

Plan a gentler pace
- Do not stack tawaf, sa'i and other long walks on the day you arrive after a flight.
- Rest between prayers and keep water with you.
- Allow extra time for transfers and security queues.
- Discuss any ziyarat outings with your group leader and skip the ones that are too tiring.
Mobility, health and documents
Tell your agent early if anyone needs a wheelchair or assistance at the airport or at the Haram, so it can be arranged. Speak to your doctor before travel, carry regular medicines in original packaging with prescriptions, and keep a printed list of medicines and emergency contacts. Passports, visa copies and vaccination papers should be in one folder. Our documents and visa checklist covers the paperwork, and our first-time Umrah guide covers what to pack.
Travelling with children
Carry snacks, a change of clothes and a simple plan for who stays with whom during crowded prayers. Agree a meeting point in the Haram before you go in, since phones can be hard to use in crowds.
Frequently asked questions
Which package suits elderly parents best?
Hotel distance is the biggest factor. A closer hotel means shorter walks to the Haram for every prayer, so many families with elderly members prefer the closer options, such as our Sukoon or Deluxe Umrah.
Can I get wheelchair help during Umrah?
Wheelchair support is generally available at airports and at the Haram, but arrangements differ. Tell your agent in advance and ask what support is included.
Should we carry medicines from India?
Yes. Carry enough of your regular medicines in their original packaging with a doctor's prescription, and check the current health requirements in our documents guide.
